Please note that FRC produces shows on a volunteer, recreational basis, and does not financially compensate participants except for pre-approved show-related expenses.
Please prepare a piece on your chosen instrument, preferably in the jazz style, to perform. You will also be asked to sight read something from the show during your audition. If you play multiple instruments, please prepare something on each instrument - you may wish to book multiple audition slots if you play more than two instruments.
As part of our ongoing efforts to fairly recognize the contributions of all the participants in a show, FRC is no longer offering the honorarium to musicians that may have been paid in the past, but will compensate for expenses incurred during the creation of the show. We are continuing to examine the rewards that we provide for the unique contributions that everyone brings together to make our shows a success to create a collaborative and positive environment for everyone involved
About the Show
You remember the story. You love the characters. You know “the song.” FRC is proud to present the stage adaptation of one of the most celebrated and beloved films of all time, Singin’ in the Rain!
What a glorious feeling, I'm happy again!
Set in 1920’s Hollywood, this zany, light-hearted romantic comedy centres around the early days of sound film, when many a movie studio found itself scrambling to salvage the career of its chipmunk-voiced silent picture star. Much loved silent film actor Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly in the film) has to find a way to stay on top, so with the help of his friend Cosmo and love interest Kathy Seldon, Don turns his first talking picture into a musical.
With songs like "Make ‘Em Laugh”, “Good Morning” and, of course, “Singin’ in the Rain”, you’ll be tapping your toes all night long. Bring the kids, bring your friends, but don’t forget your umbrella – you never know when it might start raining!
