Poster for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying
Going step by step through the self-help book \"How to
Succeed in Business Without Really Trying\", the young janitor,Pierrepoint Finch, better known to his friends as \"Ponty\", attempts to rise up the corporate ladder of the World Wide Wicket Company.
Using the book as a guide, Ponty also employs his own cleverness to outwit the boss\'s lazy nephew Bud. Employing his own natural charm he wins over not only most of the staff of the World Wide Wicket Company, but the boss himself; one J.B. Biggley. And of course, along the way up that corporate ladder, our hero falls in love with Rosemary, one of the many company secretaries.
Will Ponty be able to rise to the very top against all odds?
Will he be able to stave off the romantic intentions of Hedy La Rue, the boss\'s mistress, and live happily ever after with his true love Rosemary? Will Bud, the boss\'s nephew, be sly enough to put an end to Finch\'s plans? Will Finch\'s own great public relations scheme for the World Wide Wicket Company be his own downfall? How far can one go by reading a book? Hey, if I tell you all that, then .........
