Nathan Detroit is always looking for a place to run a crap game, to the consternation of his longtime fiancee, Adelaide. He needs a thousand dollars, and bets Sky Masterson that Sky can't get Sarah Brown of the faltering Save-A-Soul Mission to fly with him to Havana - but Sky does
it.
The two fall in love until Sarah discovers that the gamblers used the mission while she and Sky were away. Sarah then refuses to have anything to do with him. Forcing Sky to "win" sinners in a dice game so they'll attend a prayer meeting and keep the mission going. Sky wins his sinners and he and Sarah then marry - as do Adelaide and a most unhappy Nathan.
